This is perfect for someone who wants to work on something specific. Or if you just want to learn color theory, how to mix paint, how to draw, or need help critiquing a piece to finish it... can be tailored to your needs.
These sessions are perfect for a brand new beginner who needs some hand-holding to get started. Or for a professional that needs a boost in motivation and wants to learn new mixed media techniques.
Notes about classes and supply list
At each class I talk a little in the
beginning and offer ideas for the day, sometimes it is quite
experimental,
which everyone seems to enjoy. Sometimes
we work more abstract, sometimes with some subject, it depends
on the day. Then everyone paints for a while, then I usually
demonstrate at some point. My partner, Chuck Gumpert, who is
also a professional artists is usually present too. We go around
and help people individually, but also allow people to just
paint quite a bit. It's a lot of fun. Near the end of class
we have group critique and discuss everyone's work. We listen
to lively music and people bring snacks too.
The whole list
below costs around $100--150. Of course if you want large canvases it's
more. I suggest bringing at least 2--3 canvases each class
because we bounce around from piece to piece allowing each
to dry.
Please gesso (prime) a couple canvases before you come to class
if you know how... if you don't know what gesso is, not to
worry, I'll teach you at the first class.
